for the next two (2) years: as Liberia and the Republic of Benin were elected
to serve as Auditors for the regional lottery body.

year’s Congress focused on Security and Social Corporate Responsibility within realm
of Africa Lotteries. Key points included: the pursuit of operational excellence
engaging in the way of qualifications to international norms and standards, as
well as strengthening its position vis-à-vis other associations and international
partners.
According to press

Lotteries Chief
Executive Officer, Mr. Martin S. Kollie said the participation of Liberia
National Lotteries at the 16th Congress of the Association Des
Loteries D’ Afrique meant well for the Government owed Lottery institution and
has provided many opportunities for technical and professional assistance.
Mr. Kollie mentioned
that this has been the first time Liberia has ever participated in the such an
international lottery assembly since the inception of the Association Des Loteries
D’ Afrique in 1981.
“Our participation at
the regional lottery governing body seems to be the first, since Liberia
National Lotteries was founded in 1993 and the African Lottery Association in
1981. We are optimistic that in the near future, Liberia will not only
participate, but will also host the Association Des Loteries D’ Afrique
Congress and will play a major role in the decision making processes of the
African Lotteries Association,” Mr. Kollie asserted.
Mr.
Kollie however renewed calls for the amendment of the 1993 Act that created the
Liberia National Lotteries, in order for the institution to have full
jurisdiction over all gaming entities within the Republic of Liberia and also to
achieve her statutory mandates through the means of helping people with
disability and contributing to national development.
